Children, Gloria Joffe (late Meir), Larry (Eve), Mitchel (Claudia), Sandy Avidan (Moshe), Ted (Anna), Daniel (Luisa), and Edward; 18 grandchildren (U.S. and in New Zealand); 6 great-grandchildren (one on the way). Survived by brother, Robert Robbins, many nieces and nephews.
U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, served as a gunner on a B-24, and boxed competitively, as a welterweight. He participated in Honor Flight, traveling to the WWII Memorial. Participant in the Delco Senior Games, several years, medaling and enjoying the camaraderie. He loved house-sales, shopping, and good food. His favorite was hiking in the woods with his dog, his children and neighborhood kids trailing behind him, lighting a bonfire, baking potatoes, and telling the kids to find sticks to cook the hotdogs and marshmallows he brought. It was just like day camp.....only BETTER! A hard-working business owner, generous....to a fault, helping family, friends, and strangers. We love and miss him. Melvin was interred at Haym Salomon Memorial Park.
