Showcase your art, sculpture, crafts, jewelry creations, Judaica and other unique products or services to the more than 5,000 people expected to join in Federation’s Israel 66 celebration on Sunday, May 18, noon to 5 p.m., at Penn’s Landing on the Philadelphia waterfront. The cost is $200 for a 10x10-foot tented booth.
This free, family-friendly afternoon will feature entertainment by Israeli singer and songwriter David Broza, who will perform in Philadelphia as part of a U.S. tour following the release of his brand-new album, East Jerusalem West Jerusalem.
The entertainment lineup for the festival also features performances by the Mummers’ Avalon String Band as well as The Melevah Malkah Band, a klezmer-jazz group from Germantown Jewish Centre.
Ayala Ingedeshet, the first Ethiopian-born Israeli singer with a major-label record deal will also delight audiences. She has performed with such well-known American artists as Jill Scott and Macy Gray and is currently working on her second CD.
Falafel and other festive foods will be available for sale throughout the day. Children will create a giant Israeli flag out of K’NEX and challenge their friends to a spirited game of GaGa, an Israeli version of dodge ball, in the festival sports area.
