Nefesh B’Nefesh Announces Award for Olim
Nefesh B’Nefesh, an organization that assists people from North America and Great Britain in making aliyah, has announced that it will award five $10,000 prizes to olim from those countries.
A committee of distinguished leaders from Israel and organizations connected to the Jewish state will award the prizes to people who made significant contributions to Israel in the categories of: science and medicine; education and nonprofit; Israel Defense Forces and national service; entrepreneurship technology; or culture, sports and art.
Committee members include: Gabi Ashkenazi, the former chief of staff of the IDF; Colette Avital, an Israeli diplomat and former Knesset member; Michael Eisenberg, a partner at Aleph venture capital fund; David Horovitz, founding editor of The Times of Israel; and Russel Robinson, chief executive of the Jewish National Fund.
There have been 150 olim from the Philadelphia-area over the last five years, according to Nefesh B’Nefesh.
Candidates must have made aliyah from an English-speaking country. Nomination forms are available at nbn.org.il/boneizion/nominate.
The deadline for applications is Dec. 15.
