Getting my youngest to break his thumb-sucking habit in kindergarten was surprisingly easy. But now, six months later, he's back at it. Have I enabled him by trusting that he will give it up when he is ready? 

Here's the story of the Yom Kippur I will never forget. I was 15 and absentmindedly broke the fast early with a few corn chips.

Maxon came home from his first day at Hebrew school with teeth stained from water ice and friends at his side. He won't admit it, but it seems like he maybe actually had a good time.
