Main Line Fertility to Host Jewish Genetic Screening Day

Main Line Fertility is hosting a “Jewish Genetic Screening Day” on Sunday, Feb. 23 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., for Jewish women of reproductive age (18-44) and their partners to determine if they are carriers of an inherited disorder (i.e. Tay Sachs, etc).

The screening involves having blood drawn by either a phlebotomist or nurse in the office. Results can be expected in approximately one month. Genetic counselors are available for phone consultation, at no cost to the patient, should a positive screening result occur.

All insurance plans accepted (except Medicaid and Medicare). Any out of pocket insurance costs are being covered by a private donor.

To register, please send an email to [email protected]. Main Line Fertilty is located at: 825 Old Lancaster Road, Suite 170, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010.

Despite the oncoming horrors of the Holocaust, Gilbert and Eleanor Kraus bravely traveled into the heart of the Nazi empire in an effort to save innocent lives. Their unlikely mission would turn an ordinary American couple into extraordinary heroes. Their incredible story has never been told...until now.    Special guest, holocaust survivor and one of the 50 children rescued, Kurt Herman, will be at the movie screening for a question and answer session.    All ticket sales benefit Almond Branch Initiative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid to the state of Israel.
