Your Teen Acting Like a Hotshot CEO? Send Them to Camp
They say heading into the mountains can help people clear their heads and find direction.
If that’s the case, then a new Jewish overnight camp in Boulder, Colo., could become a hotbed for ideas from young entrepreneurs.
The program, Camp Inc., which will start this summer, is a specialty camp for young entrepreneurs from seventh to 12th grade. Those interested in attending could see their tuition waived through a contest that will provide a free session to the three people with the best product or service ideas. And if you enter the contest but do not win, you will still receive a $250 discount off of camp tuition, which ranges from $2,200 to $3,900 depending on age.
Camp Inc. was one of four new speciality camps to receive funding from the Foundation for Jewish Camp, a nonprofit organization that aims to increase the number of children and teens who attend Jewish camps.
“Instead of going to a business program on Stanford’s campus and not being religiously connected, we’re a very unique program that combines Jewish overnight camp and a top notch business program for teens,” said Josh Pierce, chief camp officer.
Over two- or three-week sessions, campers will learn leadership and business skills, such as website design and financial management, and also take part in more conventional camp activities such as hiking and swimming.
