Jewish Yoga for an Awakened Life: A 10 Session Intensive
At the heart of Jewish and yoga teachings, the practice is love. How do we embody love in everything we do? How do we come back if we fall out of the pose? In 10 bi-weekly four hour immersions we will employ Jewish teachings about tikkun middot-refinement of character traits--to guide us in exploring how these qualies live inside our minds, hearts and bodies, and inspire our compassionate action in the world. Specially designed full yoga sessions and mindfulness meditation will help us integrate the teachings in our bodies and in our lives.
Come experience Jewish Yoga, a practice of study and movement that honors the body, clarifies the mind, opens the heart, and expands the spirit within. No prior knowledge of Judaism or Hebrew is required. Just a willing heart, an open mind and a body ready to practice. Registration for entire series is encouraged but it is possible to attend individual sessions. This series is a program of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality (www.jewishspirituality.org), and hosted by Focus Fitness Main Line (www.focusfitnessml.com). Dates are: April 7, 21, May 5, 19, June 2, September 29, October 13, November 10, 24, 2013.
Facilitated by Rabbi Myriam Klotz, E-RYT. Myriam is Director of Yoga and Embodied Practices at the Institute for Jewish Spirituality and co-founder of the Yoga and Jewish Spirituality Teacher Training at Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center.
