The Jewish Community Centers of Greater Philadelphia are planning "A Tribute to Ronald Krancer," on Saturday, Dec. 10, at the JCC's Kaiserman Branch in Wynnewood.

The organization's annual gala is honoring the philanthropist for his longstanding commitment to the agency.

"It's an obligation of good citizenship to be thinking of other people and to be charitable," said Krancer, who serves on the board of the JCCs, and is a member of Temple Brith Achim in King of Prussia.

"It's a tremendous organization that does a lot for youth and for old people," said Krancer of the JCC. "I'm very enthusiastic about their Meals on Wheels, the educational programs for seniors and educational programs for the Russian people in the Northeast. It's just wonderful!"

Krancer's charitable mentality extends into the secular world as well; he's involved with the Ronald McDonald House in West Philadelphia, and is a vice chairman of the Police Athletic League.

"I don't know how you can live with yourself without doing these charitable activities," he said. "It's a vital part of life."
