Players vying to compete with the Israeli national men's lacrosse team at the 2014 World Lacrosse Championships represented the country in an exhibition game against a team representing the Phillippines on Aug. 18 in Baltimore.

The Israeli squad won handedly, defeating the Flipino American Lacrosse Club 18 to 2. The sport is just in its infancy in both the Phillippines and Israel, though more so in the former, according to Scott Neiss, director of Israel Lacrosse.

Reuven Dressler, a Dresher native, and Matt Cherry, of Bryn Mawr, play for the Tel Aviv and Jerusalem club lacrosse teams and have participated in international tournaments with Israel. Neither played in Baltimore, but both are hoping to represent Israel at the championships next summer in Denver.
