The mission of Volunteers for Israel is to connect Americans to Israel through volunteer service. We achieve this by partnering with military and civilian organizations in Israel that enable American volunteers ages 17 and up to live and work

Volunteers For Israel March Meeting

March 24, 2015 7:00 PM

The Philadelphia Region of VOLUNTEERS FOR ISRAEL (VFI) will host its quarterly meeting on TUESDAY, MARCH 24, from 7-9 pm at the Gratz College Library in Melrose Park, PA.

The featured guest will be MICHAEL  J. LEVENTHAL, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR of ISRAEL GUIDE DOG CENTER for the BLIND, a FREE service that trains and places guide dogs with blind and visually-impaired Israelis to help them  achieve independence, mobility and self-esteem. Clients include IDF veterans, autistic children, and disabled adults.

Mr. Leventhal will speak about the inspiring, life-changing accomplishments of the Center, whose campus is in Beit Oved, south of Tel Aviv. His father, Norman, founded the Center in 1991.

The event is FREE and open to the public.

The public is invited to hear Michael Leventhal, see a short film, meet VFI  alumni, and learn about VFI's unique program, which enables volunteers 17 and older to show support for Israel by working on IDF logistics bases. VFI's mission is to connect Americans with Israel.  Since 1982, Volunteers have helped relieve Israel's manpower and economic burden.

Refreshments will be served.
