HaZamir Auditions

HaZamir Philadelphia invites teens in grades 8 - 12 to audition for membership in the International Jewish High School Choir.  HaZamir provides Jewish high school students with the unique opportunity to sing Jewish choral music, build community and conect to Jewish culture.  HaZamir's high quality, structured program instills in its youth a lifelong commitment to Jewish culture and music and builds a strong foundation for its participants' future Jewish involvement.  HaZamir transcends boundaries, giving teenagers a valuable and rare trans-denominational experience and an opportunity to forge close bonds and unite with a common goal.  HaZamir Philadelphia is co-sponsored locally by the Jewish Community High School of Gratz College, and meets from 1:15 - 3 p.m. at the College on the Mandell Education Campus, 7605 Old York Road in Melrose Park.  Highlights of the coming season include a performance with the 300+ members of the international ensemble on Sunday afternoon, March 22 at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City's Lincoln Center.  For more information about the local ensemble, contact Dr. Marsha Bryan Edelman, Director, at [email protected] or call 347-782-2746.    HaZamir: The International Jewish High School Choir,  is a project of the Zamir Choral Foundation, Matthew Lazar, Founder and Director.  For more information, visit www.zamirchoralfoundation.org
