On the five-year anniversary of the war Israel launched to retaliate against rocket attacks from Hamas, Exponent staffer and Mount Airy native Amishai Gottlieb recalls his brief but harrowing experience on the front lines.
Forty years after the signing of the 1973 Paris Peace Accords, which trumpeted the end of direct U.S. involvement in the Vietnam war, some of the soldiers who fought in that difficult conflict reflect on their experiences.
Amishai Gottlieb, a Mt. Airy native, joined the Jewish Exponent as a multimedia reporter in January 2014.
He made aliyah in 2006 and served as a paratrooper in the IDF. After his army service Amishai worked as a breaking news editor for the Jerusalem Post and he completed his B.A. in English Literature at Bar Ilan University in 2013.
He moved back to the Philadelphia area in November 2013.
