Judith and Russell Young of Wallingford announce the engagement of their daughter, Dena Rachel Young, to Avi Lebovic, son of Sophie and Cantor Joseph Lebovic of Cherry Hill, N.J.
Dena attended Akiba Hebrew Academy, and graduated cum laude from George Washington University with a degree in anthropology and minors in Jewish studies and criminal justice. She also holds a Juris Doctorate from the Drexel University Earle Mack School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. Dena, who is currently employed by the law office of Eric K. Senn Esq., focuses on animal law.
Avi attended Cherry Hill East High School and graduated Rutgers University with degrees in civil and industrial engineering. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in business administration. Avi is a civil engineer at Urban Engineers, Inc., in Philadelphia.
Sharing in the couple's joy are Dena's grandmothers, Bettina Weintraub and Ada Young; and her brothers, Josh and Doug. Also celebrating are Avi's grandparents, Mina and David Lebovic; and his sisters and brothers-in-law, Yael and Mac Branscom, along with their children Nathan and Raya; and Mimi and Aaron Bookman, and their children, Layna and Owen.
Dena is the granddaughter of the late Daniel Weintraub and the late Jay Young. Avi is the grandson of the late Jacob Klein and the late Rachel Standing.
The couple, who currently lives in Old City Philadelphia, is planning a summer 2011 wedding.
