'Women of Distinction' Saluted

American Associates, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev's Philadelphia Chapter recently hosted a special evening of distinction at the National Museum of American Jewish History to honor women who have distinguished themselves in a variety of major arenas.

Feted at the gala brunch, chaired by Sherrie Savett, attorney and president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, were Dr. Lori Goldstein, director of the Breast Cancer Research Program of Fox Chase Cancer Center; Lisa Scheller, CEO of Silberline Manufacturing as well as chair of the Lehigh County Board of Commissioners; Jane Golden, head of the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program; Eileen Heisman, CEO of the National Philanthropic Trust; Marilyn Birnhak, president of the area franchise of Weight Watchers International; and Lynne Abraham, former Philadelphia district attorney.

More than $1.1 million was raised at the brunch, with funds earmarked for Ben-Gurion University scholarships and fellowships.
