Volunteer Throughout the Year With the Mitzvah Food Project

Beth Sholom Congregation, 8231 Old York Rd., Elkins Park
  • Volunteers needed to pack bags on the first and third Thursday of the month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Backup drivers needed to make deliveries in Elkins Park and Northeast Philadelphia on the first and third Thursday of the month. Backup drivers are contacted in advance when regular drivers are not available.
 
Kaiserman JCC, 45 Haverford Rd., Wynnewood
   • Volunteers need to assist with recipient walk-in hours on the second and fourth Thursday of the month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
   • Backup drivers needed to make deliveries from Kaiserman JCC. Backup drivers are contacted in advance when regular drivers are not available.
 
Klein JCC, 10100 Jamison Ave., Philadelphia
   • Greet clients and make sure they are registered
   • Help clients use the computer system to select items and place their order (this requires volunteers to be comfortable both using the computer and working with clients) 
   • Pack food orders and assisting cli­ents to their cars
   • Perform general inventory and upkeep of the stock room
Volunteers are needed Monday to Thursday in the morning, afternoon, and early evenings
 
Jewish Community Services Build­ing, 2100 Arch St., Philadelphia
   • Backup drivers needed to make deliveries in Center City, South Philadelphia and North Philadelphia. Backup drivers are contacted in advance when regular drivers are not available.
   • Volunteers needed to assist with recipient walk-in hours on first and third Thursday of the month from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
