The New Year is rapidly approaching - a time to gather together with family and friends in the home and in the synagogue.

And we work to make our table beautiful for Rosh Hashanah, just like we do for Shabbat. Here's a fun and simple idea for you to try.

You will need: a plastic apple; a plastic honey bear; unbreakable candlesticks covered with tinfoil (to make them look silver); a small, white paper tablecloth; napkins; an unbreakable vase; artificial flowers; an empty box of raisins; and challah.

Put all the above items in a box, and let the children create their own Rosh Hashanah table setting.
