Miriam Booth of Champaign, Illinois announces the marriage of her daughter, Marla Helene Booth, to Adam Douglas Taxin, son of Marion and Dr. Richard Taxin of Rose Valley, Pennsylvania.
The ceremony and reception are to take place on Sunday, May 19 at Congregation Beth Tfiloh in Baltimore.
Rabbi Eliezer Hirsch, who presides over Congregation Mekor Habracha/Center City Synagogue in Philadelphia, is to officiate.
Allissa Dunn, sister of the bride, is to serve as matron of honor.
The bridesmaids are: Aimee Rubin, sister of the groom; Julia Taxin, sister-in-law of the groom; Rachel Dunn, cousin of the bride; Nanci Bankier-Hochstadter, cousin of the bride; Stacy Bankier, cousin of the bride; Molly Dunn, niece of the bride; Rebecca Dunn, niece of the bride; and Suzanne Graham Paire, friend of the bride and groom.
The flower girl is to be Natalie Rubin, niece of the groom.
Eric Stern, a friend of the groom, is to serve as best man.
The groomsmen are: Brett Taxin, brother of the groom; Dr. Eric Rubin, brother-in-law of the groom; Dr. Jonathan Dunn, brother-in-law of the bride; Ryan Marder, son of the bride; Kyle Marder, son of the bride; William Marder, son of the bride; Andrew Rubin, nephew of the groom; and William Rubin, nephew of the groom.
The ring bearer is to be Joseph Dunn, nephew of the bride.
Completing the wedding party is Leon Bankier, maternal grandfather of the bride.
Rabbi Reuven Kigel and Allen Rothenberg are to sign the ketubah, which is to be read under the chuppah by Rabbi Daniel Lerner. Jacob Oslick will serve as shomer ketubah. Dr. Jerry Altzman and Dr. Bruce Levin are to witness the tenaim. Rabbi Gedaliah Lowenstein and Rabbi Eli Strasberg will serve as ring ceremony witnesses. Seth Bankier (cousin of the bride), Rabbi Chai Posner, Rabbi Chaim Wecker, Rabbi Binyomin Neustadt, Rabbi Alexander Coleman, Rabbi Louis Kaplan and Cantor Avraham Albrecht will offer the sheva berachos. Yichud witnesses will be Andrés Catalán and William Moritz.
The bride works in real estate development. The groom, an attorney, works in new media journalism.
The couple first met in their childhood years, during vacations when they would visit their grandparents who lived in the same Hollywood, Florida high-rise condominium. Completely out of touch since 1989, they very recently reconnected.
The couple will reside in Pikesville, Maryland. As of now, they expect to honeymoon this summer in Newfoundland.
