Geeks have a life, too -- and their own awards night. It's scheduled Aug. 17 at the Academy of Natural Sciences, when the annual black-tie event -- presented by the academy and Geekadelphia -- announces whether the Comic Book Writer of the Year is Phil Kahn, who penned Guilded Age, or Bryan J.L. Glass of The Mice Templar, among other contestants, and if Dr. Paul R. Ehrlich is the Bunsen burner to beat as Scientist of the Year. Black-tie? Just leave room for a pocket calculator in the formal shirt.
