LEONARD SOBEL, April 27, 2013. Beloved husband of ADELE (nee HARRIS), devoted father of 4 sons: CRAIG (PAULA), NEIL (LYNNE), JONATHAN (MICHELLE) and WARREN (HOLLY); beloved brother of the late HERBERT (ARLENE SOBEL BREST); loving grandfather of MELISSA (MAX), JOEL, JACLYN, JARED, JESSE, and SAMANTHA; and great grandfather of MICAH. Len graduated from Overbrook High School and Drexel University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He worked in the lighting energy management business, heading his own company, All-Light Industries. As an active member of Beth Sholom Congregation in Elkins Park for over 50 years, he served as President of the Men's Club, member of the Beth Sholom Board of Directors, Religious, House, and Finance Committees, Head Usher for High Holiday services, and Trustee of the Beth Sholom Men's Club Youth Scholarship Endowment Fund. He also served as President of the Middle Atlantic Region of the Federation of Jewish's Men's Clubs. As chairperson and during his 27 years with the MAR Golden Kippah Youth Concert, over $1.3 million was raised to support and benefit Camp Ramah in the Poconos. Len's contribution to Beth Sholom Congregation in Elkins Park and the Mid-Atlantic Region of the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs showed a unique dedication to Jewish ideals and the Jewish Community of the Delaware Valley. He received numerous awards and was honored by many organizations for his timeless efforts and contributions.
