A new, "unexpected" generation of Jews made an appearance in Poland after the fall of communism. Today Poland is experiencing what some have called the a "renaissance of Jewish culture." At the same time, more and more Poles are discovering their Jewish roots and are beginning to seek forms of Jewish affiliation. Return of the Jew asks, "can there be 'authentic' Jewish life in Poland after generations of oppression?"
