Marianne Schorr Loeb, loving wife of Richard Loeb (deceased), mother of Thomas, Adrienne and David Loeb, and grandmother of Richard and John Loeb, passed away on May 8, 2013 in Jenkintown, PA. Marianne was born in Vienna, Austria on May 31, 1923 and began painting at the age of three. She attended primary and secondary school in Budapest, Hungary. She sailed to the United States in 1939 and attended the University of the Arts, in Philidelphia. As a practicing fashion design illustrator she created illustrations for the New York Times and The New Yorker Magazine. She had a long career as a textile designer and executive, sharing responsibilities with he husband. Marianne is best known by her friends and relatives as a wonderful friend and exceptional painter. Her many canvases adorned her home and were occasionally exhibited in the Jenkintown vicinity. She had an unchallenged command of art history, and was fluent in many languages. She will be sorely missed by her friends and family.
