'Scene' Contest: Wake Up to 'Drowsy'
Wake up -- "The Drowsy Chaperone" is accompanying a great cast to Philadelphia, where the five-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical will take up residence at the Academy of Music, Nov. 27 to Dec. 2.
And "On the Scene" is offering a pair of tickets to five lucky contest winners for the ride of their life.
The musical -- actually a musical within a musical -- has wowed critics and audiences in its tale as told by the "Man in Chair," whose onstage recounting of the 1928 musical comedy "The Drowsy Chaperone" helped make it the sleeper hit of last season.
The show, with a score by Tony winners Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, offers a valentine to old-time musicals and to those theater-goers who adore them.
And what could be a better throwback to the grand old days than to make the tickets valid for opening night!
That's right, each of five winners will receive a pair of tickets to the Nov. 27 date at the Academy.
Don't be sleepy -- get on the stick and on the keyboard with this! After all, the first five entrants take home "The Drowsy Chaperone."
To enter, e-mail your name and address to onthescene@ jewishexponent.com, with "Drowsy Chaperone" in the subject line.
For ticket information and box-office hours, call 215-731-3333 or log on to: www.kimmelcenter.org/broadway.
It's all part of the Cadillac Broadway Series, with tickets also available at the Kimmel Center box office, daily, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
