Ellen Toplin of Dresher announces the engagement of her daughter, Jessica R. Toplin, to Halden L. Chairnoff, son of Stephen and Lois Chairnoff of Coral Springs, Fla., formerly of Philadelphia.
Jessica earned a Juris Doctorate, graduating with high honors and as a member of the Order of the Coif from the George Washington University Law School in Washington D.C. She also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a double major in human resources and marketing, as well as a minor in communications from George Washington University, graduating summa cum laude. Jessica currently works as a trial attorney for the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
Halden is a law student at Nova Southeastern Shepard Broad Law Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He will earn a Juris Doctorate with a certificate in international law in December. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in renewable natural resources wild-life, watershed and rangeland management, with a concentration in rangeland management, from the University of Arizona in Tucson.
Jessica is the daughter of Richard Toplin of Bala Cynwyd; and the granddaughter of Herbert Toplin, the late Elaine Toplin, and the late Joseph and Bessie Hoffman. She is also the step-daughter of Charlene Kurland.
Halden is the grandson of Anna Chairnoff and the late Charles Chairnoff, and the late Hyman and Hannah Kanter.
The couple, who will be living in Arlington, Va., is planning a 2011 wedding.
