Quakertown resident and painter Andre Salz will give a presentation about “Rembrandt and the Jews in Amsterdam.” The public is invited, and there is no charge for admission.

The lecture will explore the painter Rembrandt and the Jewish community of Amsterdam and how they affected each other.  While the Jews of Amsterdam were learning to thrive in a new home, Rembrandt was finding a new way of depicting them and the stories of their heritage.  The tale is one of interfaith cooperation and aesthetic change.

With a BFA from the University of the Arts, Andre Salz is a painter who has exhibited in Philadelphia and New York as well as other locations.  He is a long-time member of Kehilat HaNahar.

Celebrating its 18th year as a Reconstructionist synagogue located in the historic borough of New Hope, Kehilat HaNahar welcomes visitors.
