The first Philadelphia Forever Young + Health and Wellness event — offering a panoply of speakers, classes, exhibits and interactive demonstrations — takes place Sunday, Oct. 21, at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown, 17th and Vine Sts.
The full-day event begins at 10 a.m. The proposed annual celebration of “healthy living and healthy aging” is presented by, and is a benefit for, the Klein JCC.
On the agenda will be a talk by Philadelphia native Dr. Andrew Weil, founder and guiding spirit of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona and a popular published author, whose last two books are Spontaneous Happiness and True Food, the latter published this month.
The event will also feature 40 booths and food tastings.
Other scheduled speakers include Christina Pirello, acclaimed healthy eating chef/author, founder of the Pirello School of Natural Cooking and host of Christina Cooks on PBS, as well as Dr. Michael J. Baime, director, the University of Pennsylvania Program for Mindfulness, who will address the topic of “Reducing Stress With Mindfulness.”
Forever Young is supported by lead sponsor Einstein Healthcare Network, which also will have the Doctors’ Corner, featuring lectures by a number of leading Einstein Healthcare Network physicians .
In addition to his presentation to Forever Young attend-ees, Weil will speak in an exclusive presentation to guests at a luncheon, which will start at 11:45 a.m.
