ROSE KESSELMAN (nee BRANSKY), age 96, died on August 27, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late JOSEPH KESSELMAN, the loving and respected mother of SHARON and DON KESSELMAN, and proud Nana of LEIGH and JOEY KESSELMAN. She was a graduate of Kensington High School for Girls and the oldest daughter of NETTIE and MORRIS BRANSKY. ROSE was the sister of HENRY, JACK, SHIRLEE, and SYLVIA. When one thinks of ROSE, one thinks of devotion to family. ROSE always put family before everything in her life. In fact, in the 1940's and 1950's, ROSE brought relatives from Europe and Cuba to America so they, too, could have a better life and escape anti-Semitism and communism. She was a go-getter in her life and was a founding partner of one of the most successful for profit Thrift Shops in Philadelphia - New Looke Thrift Shoppe - at Broad & Olney Avenue for 30 successful years. All who knew her will miss her beauty, her sweet personality, her mind, her good common sense, and her love of ice cream! Rose will be very much missed by her family and friends. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Congregation Mikveh Israel, 44 N. 4th Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19106.
