"My Neighbourhood" is a Peabody Award–winning documentary short that chronicles the story of Mohammed El Kurd, a Palestinian teenager forced to share a section of his house with Israeli settlers. Mohammed comes-of-age in the midst of unrelenting tension with his neighbors and unexpected cooperation with Israeli allies in his backyard. Directed by Julia Bacha and Rebekah Wingert-Jabi.
This is the first of three movies that will be shown (the other dates are Sundays, July 21 and August 11, 3:00-5:00 p.m.) that reflect the struggles of ordinary people — their trials and how they have overcome them. Thought-provoking discussion will follow each film.
$5.00/film per family. Sign up for the entire series by June 25 to receive 10% discount — just $13.50! Beverages and snacks will be for sale.
