Grey skies and a steady drizzle did not dampen the enthusiasm of the more than 1,000 marchers, performers, sports celebrities and float, trolley and motorcycle riders who participated in the Israel 65 Parade on Sunday.
They showed their love for the Jewish homeland loudly and proudly as they traveled a one-mile route through Center City to their final destination — the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the site of Philly’s first indoor Israel Independence Day Festival.
There, they were joined by an additional 4,000 community members who enjoyed experiencing the sights, sounds, tastes and colors of Israel without the cost of airfare and lodging.
