Penina Turner (nee Pearl Turner, aka Pearl Siegel), 86, died Nov. 15, in Media.
Born in the Bronx, Turner attended Hunter College in New York City, and in 1947 earned a master's degree in nursing at Yale University.
Turner married Seymour Siegel in 1945 and raised a family of five children.
After a successful career as a registered nurse, she earned a master's degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania.
Turner pursued a long career in the Philadelphia school system as a counselor to young children. She later became a popular docent at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
She was a member of Synagogue Rodeph Shalom in Philadelphia.
Turner is survived by daughters Ellen Siegel, Deborah Siegel-Reamer, Lisa Sieg- el and Jessica Siegel; son Eric Siegel; two granddaughters; and her former husband, Seymour Siegel.
