Philly Spring Clean Up

April 14, 2013 9:00 AM-2:00 PM

Help keep up our community! Just down the block from MHP is our favorite community center, Starr Gardens. Last year we helped with some major renovations to their surrounding gardens, benches and playgrounds. We're coming back to help pick up trash and leaves, touch up the painted benches, paint the fence around their 'tot lot' and maintain and prep the garden. Whether you have a green or black thumb, come get your Tikkun Olam on! We can meet at MHP between 830a and 850a for some OJ and bagels, or just meet us at the site! All are welcome, and no need to stay for the entire time - this is definitely a pop-in pop-out event.

Despite the oncoming horrors of the Holocaust, Gilbert and Eleanor Kraus bravely traveled into the heart of the Nazi empire in an effort to save innocent lives. Their unlikely mission would turn an ordinary American couple into extraordinary heroes. Their incredible story has never been told...until now.    Special guest, holocaust survivor and one of the 50 children rescued, Kurt Herman, will be at the movie screening for a question and answer session.    All ticket sales benefit Almond Branch Initiative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid to the state of Israel.
