Noah Yucht, 92, Battled Fascism

Noah Yucht, 92, a native of Poland who joined the Soviet Army during World War II to battle fascism, died Sept. 18.

His was a circuitous route that led him to Philadelphia in 1951, traveling from Poland, to which he had returned in 1944, to Paris to Belgium.

In Philadelphia, he was a union shop foreman, later opening a bridal shop with his wife, Gitl.

Yucht is survived by sons Philip Yucht and Irving Yacht; stepson Morton Tankus; and six grandchildren.

Noah Yucht was the last survivor of nine siblings, five of whom died in the Holocaust.
