Blank Rome LLP senior counsel Morris J. Dean has been honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha, a Latino-based health, human services, community and economic development non-profit organization, for his support of APM over the years as well as his efforts on behalf of the local community. A board member of APM, the attorney is also on the board of Federation Housing, Inc. and is a former deputy attorney general for Pennsylvania.
Longtime entrepreneurial businessman Gerald Shreiber, CEO and president of J&J Snack Foods Corp., in Pennsauken, N.J., has been named Rowan University’s William G. Rohrer College of Business’ first William G. Rohrer Business Leader of the Year Award winner. Among his past honors, Shreiber was twice named winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and received the Golden Slipper Camp Angel of the Year Award.
As part of its sponsorship of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Plant-One-Million Initiative, which aims to plant that many trees in southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, the Einstein Healthcare Network is also taking part in the actual planting. Indeed, recently helping to restore the region’s tree canopy cover at special gatherings were Barry Freedman, president/CEO, Healthcare Network, at the site of the Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia; Einstein Elkins Park CEO Ruth Lefton, on the Elkins Park grounds; and Belmont Behavioral Health CEO Susan Bernini and associate vice president Sharon Bergen at Belmont.

Michael C. Gross of Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox LLP, where he serves as a partner, has been voted in as a board member at the Delaware Valley Smart Growth Alliance.
Dr. Joshua Berlin has established an eponymous scholarship at Penn’s Graduate School of Education — where he
is an overseer — which has attracted a match of $125,000 from the Abramson Challenge Grant. The Wharton grad and physician previously set up the Berlin Family Scholarship at the university.
Jerome Leventhal, professor emeritus at Temple U.’s department of curriculum, instruction and technology in education, is a new member of the Norristown High School Hall of Fame, inducted for service to the field of education. Among his diverse accomplishments, the Dresher and Norristown resident also served as executive director of the Hebrew Sunday School Society.
Jessica Kahn, a professor at Chestnut Hill College, has been honored by the Antonia Pantoja School for her efforts in helping a number of Philadelphia public schools — including Antonia Pantoja — receive books to establish their school libraries through her collection drives.
Allan Domb will be inaugurated the 88th president of the Greater Philadelphia Association of Realtors on Jan. 15 at Parc Restaurant in Center City.
