Robert D. Fox of Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, LLP, where he is managing partner, has been deemed a 2013 Super Lawyer in the field of environmental law, appearing in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Magazine. Other partners making the list from the same firm, all in environmental law: Marc Gold, Joseph Manko, Jill Kaplan, Bruce Katcher and Neil S. Witkes.
Attorney Marcel Groen, Democratic chairman for Montgomery County, has been adjudged the best at what he does in politics statewide by the poo-bahs at PoliticsPa.com. The site has deemed him “the best county chair of either party in the entire state because he combines it all: fundraising, organizing, candidate development and more.”
Dr. Shelley L. Berger, head of the Perelman School of Medicine Epigenetics Program at the U of P as well as its Dr. Daniel S. Och Professor of Cell and Developmental Biology, has been voted in as a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Also at Perelman: Gastroenterologist Dr. William H. Lipshutz, a clinical prof of medicine, has been chosen to receive the 2013 Outstanding Volunteer Clinical Teacher Award of the American College of Physicians.
A member of the Abington Friends School US Jazz Ensemble, Matthew Fleisher shared in the band’s first place finish and the title of Best Overall Jazz Ensemble at the annual Music in the Parks festival for school bands, orchestras and choirs held last month at Hersheypark. Fleisher is a senior at AFS.
Nina M. Gussack, an attorney with Pepper Hamilton LLP, was named winner of the 2013 Rainmaker Award from Transformative Leadership Awards, honoring her efforts to better the roles of women practicing corporate law. Among other honors accorded her by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, she was named to the top echelon of attorneys statewide practicing general commercial litigation.
