Miriam P.​ Rodstein, 86, Gift-Shop Owner

Miriam Rodstein, 86, a former gift-shop owner and amateur golfer, died March 14 in Florida. The former Miriam Pokras, she was a resident of Elkins Park and Delray Beach, Fla.

Rodstein had operated Milady's gift shop in Glenside, Pa., and later ran an art gallery in Pompano Beach, Fla.

She was known as an outstanding amateur golfer in both Philadelphia and South Florida. Locally, she competed in women's golf events throughout five decades, representing the Ashbourne and Philmont country clubs. She was club champion 13 times at the Hamlet Country Club in Delray Beach.

With her son-in-law, Jim Ginsberg, Rodstein twice won Philadelphia's Griscom Cup, and with her husband, Albert Rodstein, won the Philadelphia Golf Association Husband-and-Wife Tournament in 1965.

The Miriam Rodstein Cup is awarded annually to the most valuable woman's player at Philmont Golf Club.

In addition to her husband, Rodstein is survived by daughter Arlene Ginsberg; sons Marc Rodstein and Howard Rodstein; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jeffrey Rodstein.
