Dear Miriam,

I have a friend who always appears to have a surly expression on her face. I know her to be a kind, interesting person, even a happy person, but for some reason she often looks annoyed. I know she wants to make new friends, get out and date more, but I think her facial expressions are holding her back. Is there any way I can talk to her about this?

Most of my friends aren't stressed out because they're turning in papers they already wrote for other classes or sharing papers with each other so they each only have to do some of the work. What counts as plagiarism?

Dear Miriam,

Lately, I've started hanging out with a group of people who are a lot more knowledgeable than I am about most things Jewish, and while I really like them, I'm embarrassed to ask them what's going on and end up being left out of a lot of the conversations. How can I ask without looking dumb, or how can I find out what they were talking about after the fact?

Sometimes, people use "insider language" to show that they belong and to make that fact clear to anyone who's...
