Ronnie and Ed Zwirn of Huntingdon Valley announce the engagement of their daughter, Marlie Heather Zwirn, to Benjamin Alex Garber, son of Martha and Jeffrey Garber of Penn Valley.
Marlie graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary and special education. She holds a Master of Science degree in school psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. A special-education teacher, Marlie will complete a full-time internship as a school psychologist, while also completing work toward an educational-specialist degree in school psychology.
Ben is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in government. He also holds a Juris Doctorate from the Rutgers University School of Law. Ben works as a judicial law clerk for a judge on the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.
Sharing in the couple's happiness are Marlie's brother and sister-in-law, Adam and Meridith Zwirn, and new nephew Gavin; and Ben's brother and sister-in-law, Matthew and Carman Garber, along with nephew and nieces A.J., Jenna, Laine and Mia.
Marlie is the granddaughter of Kala Hess and the late Gunther Hess of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; and David and the late Genia Zwirn of Delray Beach, Fla. Ben is the grandson of the late Lillian and Arthur Garber, and the late Frances and Michael Nerenberg.
The couple, who lives in Center City, is planning a May wedding.
