Janet and S. Jay Shoemaker of Wynnewood announce the marriage of their son, Brian, to Ariel Ruth Finelt, daughter of Sue Ellen and Paul Finelt of Demarest, N.J.

    The ceremony took place on July 16 at the Hackensack University Medical Center, where the bride's father was recuperating from a serious bicycle accident that occurred six days prior to the wedding.

    Rabbi Jeremy Morrison of Temple Israel in Brookline, Mass., was flown in by the couple to officiate. The wedding had been scheduled to take place in Brookline on the same date.

    Maid of honor was Jessica Finelt, sister of the bride. Best man was Dr. Galen Wachtman. Other attendants were Shirley Bueno and Todd Besagliari.

    Michael Kott and Jessie Grodstein Kennedy witnessed the signing of the ketubah.

    Attending the ceremony were Laurie and Eric Shoemaker, brother and sister of the groom; Charlotte Shoemaker, and Ruth and Gil Galpern, grandparents of the groom; Rabbi Debra Hachen of Temple Beth El in Closter, N.J.; as well as the couple's aunts and uncles.

    After a honeymoon in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico, the couple lives in Waltham, Mass.
