Kim and Michael Sherman of Water Mill, N.Y.; and Hal and Audrey Krisbergh of Jenkintown announce the engagement of their children, Rachel Alanna Sherman and Jonathan Philip Krisbergh.

    Rachel, a graduate of South-ampton High School in New York, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Lafayette College. She also holds a master's degree in early-childhood special education from New York University. Rachel is a first-grade teacher at a public school in Manhattan.

    Jonathan graduated from Abington High School and Duke University, where he earned an A.B. in public-policy studies and economics. He also holds a law degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Jonathan is an attorney in the litigation department of Boies, Schiller & Flexner, LLP, in Manhattan.

    Sharing in the couple's happiness are Rachel's sister, Emily Sherman, and Jonathan's sister, Deborah Krisbergh; along with Rachel's grandparents Lorraine and Jules Sherman of Bridgehampton, N.Y.; and Sara and Miles Wexler of Fort Lee, N.J. Jonathan is the grandson of the late Lillian and Albert Goldfinger, and the late Sydell and Philip Krisbergh.

    The couple met at the wedding of mutual friends in Philadelphia.

    They are planning an Aug. 1 wedding at the Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club in Bridgehampton, N.Y.
