Carla and Joel Shafer of Dresher; Debra Ferleger of Newtown Square; and Donald Ferleger of Huntingdon Valley announce the engagement of their children, Meredith Lynn Shafer and Michael David Ferleger.
Meredith graduated summa cum laude from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in advertising management and marketing management. This past May she graduated cum laude from the Villanova University School of Law, and she also earned a Master of Business Administration from the Villanova University School of Business. Meredith recently started working for a Philadelphia law firm.
Michael, a native of Lower Moreland, earned a Pennsylvania Real Estate license shortly after graduating high school. After selling real estate in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties for several years, Michael accepted a position with an expanding commercial real estate leasing and development company. Upon Meredith’s acceptance into law school, Michael returned home from his nationwide travels and began working in sales for Mercedes-Benz of Fort Washington. He was recently promoted to the position of sales manager at the company’s West Chester location.
Meredith is the granddaughter of Sylvia and Maurice Resnick, and the late Isaac and Mildred Shafer. Michael is the grandson of Claudia Kamor and the late Frank Kamor, and the late Herbert and Vivian Ferleger.
Sharing in the couple’s happiness are Meredith’s brother Brian, along with Michael’s siblings, Chrissa, Daniel and Lisa.
The couple is planning a May wedding in Philadelphia.
