Dr. and Mrs. Ira and Cynthia Schwartz of Narberth, Pennsylvania, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Abigail Schwartz, to Evan Marcus, son of Jonathan and Cheryl Marcus of Toronto, Canada.

    Abigail, a graduate of the Baldwin School, Bryn Mawr, obtained a B.S. in Psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana and a D.M.D. from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  She completed a post-graduate general dental residency at Albert Einstein’s Jacobi Hospital, New York City and was in private practice in New York City.

    Evan graduated from the Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto.  He obtained a B.A. in Psychology from York University, Toronto, a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School and an M.B.A. from the Schulich School of Business, Toronto, Canada.  He then clerked at the Ontario Court of Appeal and practiced law at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, New York City.  Evan currently practices law at Stikeman Elliott LLP, Toronto, Canada.

    Sharing in the couple’s joy are Rabbi Rachel Schwartz, Rabbi Neil Tow, Dara and Micah Tow, and Nicole Marcus.   Abigail is the granddaughter of Barbara Gershkow and the late Dr. Edward Gershkow, and the late Max and Florence Schwartz.  Evan is the grandson of Toonie Marcus and the late Issy Marcus, and the late Elchonon and Anne Movsowitz.

    The couple currently resides in Toronto, Canada and is planning a June 2013 wedding at the John James Audubon Center, Mill Creek, Pennsylvania.
