Phyllis and Dan Rosenthal of Richboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Rachel, to Cade Harris Goldenberg, son of Dr. Barbi Kantor-Goldenberg and Dr. Bruce Goldenberg of Rye Brook, N.Y.

    Amanda earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hofstra University Honors College. She is pursuing a master's degree in international politics, with concentrations in security and Middle Eastern affairs at the American University School of International Service. Amanda is a former foreign- and defense-policy intern at the Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute. She also teaches at Temple Sinai religious school in Washington D.C.

    Cade graduated from Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in business computer information systems. A systems analyst at NASA headquarters in Washington, D.C., he is also the co-founder and president of Wigzi, an environmentally friendly pet toy company.

    Amanda is the granddaughter of Anita Spitzer and the late Joseph Spitzer of Elkins Park, and the late Natalee and Herbert Rosenthal of Jamesburg, N.J. Cade is the grandson of Elsie and Nathan Kantor of Melville, N.Y.; and Louise Goldenberg and the late Alexander Goldenberg of Palm Beach, Fla.

    Amanda and Cade celebrated their engagement on a Potomac River cruise with their parents and siblings, Geoffrey, Jared and Tarynne.

    The couple, who lives in Washington, D.C., is planning an August 2010 wedding at the Rittenhouse in Philadelphia.
