Lynne Midelton of Ventnor, N.J.; Stanley Midelton of Galloway, N.J.; and Agnes and Moshe Gancz of Neve Daniel, Israel, announce the engagement of their children, Abbey Rachael Midelton and David Meyer Gancz.

    Abbey graduated from Drexel University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. She works as a highway engineer at Urban Engineers, Inc., in Philadelphia, and is pursuing her professional engineering license.

    David served four years in the Israel Defense Force, and held the rank of First Class Sergeant in the Special Forces. He has been working in auto sales for the last seven years, and is now the general manager of a Philadelphia dealership.

    Abbey is the granddaughter of Mary Dash and the late Sidney Dash of Ventnor, N.J.; and Mildred and Herbert Midelton of Absecon, N.J., and Coconut Creek, Fla. David is the grandson of Judit Bercovits and the late Laszlo Bercovits of New York City; and the late Sarah and Baruch ("Bumi") Gancz, also of New York City.

    Joining in the couple's simchah are Abbey's brother, Eric Midelton, and Abbey's stepmother, Marie Midelton. Also celebrating are David's sister and brother-in-law Jordana and Sam Farbstein; sister and brother-in-law Dahlia and Yoshua Podolak; and nephew and nieces Eitan and Liana Farbstein, and Sarah Podolak.

    The couple, who lives in Center City, is planning a June wedding.
