Mr. Maury Popowich of Margate, N.J., and Ms. Deena Gerson of Merion Station announce the marriage of their daughter, Leah Anne Popowich, to Andrew Scott Hohns, son of Ms. Nancy Hohns of Philadelphia and Mr. William Hohns of Orlando, Fla.
The ceremony and reception took place on Feb. 24 at the Bellevue Hotel in Philadelphia.
Rabbi Fred Kazan officiated.
The bride's sister, Ms. Jessie Popowich, was matron of honor. The bridal party included Ms. Cristina Schell-Popowich, sister-in-law of the bride; Deena Gerson, mother of the bride; Mrs. Rosalie Gerson, grandmother of the bride; Nancy Hohns, mother-in-law of the bride; and Mrs. Anne Ayers, grandmother-in-law of the bride.
Mr. Job Itzkowitz was the best man. Groomsmen included William Hohns, the groom's father; Mr. Murray Hohns, the groom's grandfather; Maury Popowich, the groom's father-in-law; Dr. Irv Gerson, the groom's grandfather-in-law; and Dr. Daniel Popowich and Mr. Jeff Birenbaum, both brothers-in-law to the groom.
Completing the wedding party were flower girl Ellen Ilka Binstock, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jonathan and Ann Binstock; and ring bearer Evan David Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julie and Eric Peterson.
Dr. Sidney Zubrow and Mr. Samuel P. Katz witnessed the signing of the ketubah.
Leah is the granddaughter of the late Julius and Esther Popowich of Feltonville. Andrew is the grandson of the late Morton and Bernice Lieberman of West Philadelphia and Bridgeton, N.J.
Leah works in the president's office at the University of Pennsylvania. Andrew is a managing director at Cohen & Company.
The couple, who lives in Society Hill, is planning a winter honeymoon to East Africa.
