Mindy and Sandy Harris of Cheltenham, and Judy and Dr. Michael Lipson of Farmington Hills, Mich., announce the engagement of their children, Sloane Meghan Harris and Bryan David Lipson.

    Sloane, a graduate of Akiba Hebrew Academy and Fairleigh Dickenson University, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, a certification in elementary education, and a Master of Arts degree in teaching. She is currently a third grade teacher in New Jersey.

    Bryan, a graduate of North Farmington High School and the University of Illinois (UC), earned a Bachelor of Science degree in aviation human factors with a minor in atmospheric science. A pilot, he is currently an instructor at FlightSafety International.

    Sloane is the granddaughter of the late Jeanette and Henry Kushner of Philadelphia, and the late Mary Ann and Joseph Harris of Scranton. Bryan is the grandson of Ruth Richardson and the late Val Richardson of Farmington Hills, Mich.; Bob and Shirley Lipson of West Bloomfield, Mich.; and Marilyn Friedman and Seymour Koe­nigs­­burg of Ann Arbor, Mich.

    Sharing in the couple's happiness are Sloane's sister, Brooke Harris, and her brothers, Wayne and Todd Harris, along with Bryan's sister, Jen Lipson.

    The couple, who met in New York City and became engaged in Las Vegas, are planning an August wedding.
