Shelly and Elliot Barnathan of Havertown, and Jacquelyn and Arnold Skolnik of Sammamish, Wash., announce the engagement of their children, Julia Amy Barnathan and Aaron Daniel Skolnik.
Julia, a graduate of Haverford High School and Brandeis University, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and elementary education. She also earned a Master of Education degree from the Northwestern University School of Education and Social Policy in Evanston, Ill. Julia is currently a curriculum developer at Northwestern University's School of Education and Social Policy, in the Office of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Education Partnerships.
Aaron, a graduate of Issaquah High School and Brandeis University, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and mathematics. He is a third-year medical student at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.
Julia is the granddaughter of Irma and Louis Pretsfelder of Baltimore; and Phyllis Barnathan and the late Morris Barnathan of Laguna Woods, Calif. Aaron is the grandson of the late Marian and Chester Sidney of Bellevue, Wash.; and the late Mildred and Sol Skolnik of Los Angeles.
Sharing in the couple's happiness are their siblings, Evan and Marissa Barnathan, and Lea Skolnik.
The couple is planning a June wedding in Wynnewood."
