Harriet and Marshall Baker of Cherry Hill, N.J., announce the engagement of their daughter, Dayna Staci, to Lawrence Craig Weintraub, son of Susan and Stanley Weintraub of Havertown.
Dayna, a graduate of Cherry Hill High School East and Ithaca College, earned a master's degree in higher education and student-affairs administration from Indiana University. She is a senior policy analyst for the Academic Senate at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Lawrence graduated from Haverford High School and Cornell University, and holds a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a doctoral student in astrophysics at the California Institute of Technology.
Dayna is the granddaughter of Bernice Rosenberg of Narberth, the late Norman Rosenberg, and the late Albert Baker of St. Louis. Lawrence is the grandson of Bob Paster of Philadelphia and the late Frances Paster, and the late Ruth and Charles Weintraub.
Dayna and Laurence met in Los Angeles after being introduced by Dayna's aunt, Seyna Abel, and Lawrence's mother, Susan.
The couple is planning a July wedding at Temple Beth Sholom in Cherry Hill.
