Lighting up the Mall
After dozens of cars wound down the Ben Franklin Parkway festooned with menorahs in Lubavitch of Greater Philadelphia's annual March of Lights Saturday, a crowd congregated on Independence Mall to mark the first night of Chanukah by lighting a giant menorah.
Along with candle lighting, upwards of 800 people enjoyed live music, sufganiyot and other goodies. A representative from Lubavitch of Greater Philadelphia estimated that about 300 cars took part in this year's parade.
