The Jewish Relief Agency is the largest provider of food assistance to Jewish families in need in the Greater Philadelphia region and is the third largest direct-service food pantry in our area. Our monthly food distribution, started in 2000, now assist over 3,000 low income households. For many recipients, the food from JRA means the difference between having enough to eat and going without.

One Sunday each month, JRA brings together 750-1000+ volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to pack and deliver boxes of fresh produce and non-perishable pantry items to over 3,000 needy families.

We realize that many of our recipients need help beyond the monthly box of food. In 2011, we launched JRAid, a dynamic web-based program which matches volunteers with people in need of assistance with everyday chores. JRAidvolunteers can sign up to help in a variety of ways, such as providing a ride to the doctor, doing some simple yard work, purchasing a supermarket gift card, or simply visiting a homebound senior.  Volunteers can also make micro-donations to help cover the costs of larger projects that require a qualified professional.

The Jewish Relief Agency is the largest provider of hunger relief assistance to the Philadelphia Jewish community and is one of the region's biggest volunteer engagement organizations. JRA volunteers provide vital food support and help with everyday chores to over 3,000 low-income households in the 5-county Philadelphia area.
