Israel 65 --Israel Independence Day City-Wide Celebration
JOIN THE PHILADELPHIA JEWISH COMMUNITY FOR OUR ISRAEL 65 CELEBRATION 2013!
PARADE:
Design a float or march with your synagogue, school, camp or other community organization and show pride in our Jewish homeland! Joining our parade will be the Avalon String Band, Star of David Bikers, the Philadelphia Fife and Drum Corps, and other luminaries!
Parade line-up is at Eakins Oval on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, in front of the Art Museum
* Line Up: begins at 10:15 a.m. at Eakins Oval.
Your marching orders will arrive by May 10, 2013.
* Parade: Kick off at 11:00 a.m., rain or shine
The Parade will walk to the spacious, climate-controlled Pennsylvania Convention Center for part two of this amazing event! This is the FIRST time that our annual Israel celebration will be staged indoors and record crowds are anticipated.
CONVENTION CENTER EVENT:
From noon to 4 p.m. enjoy fabulous Israeli food, entertainment, arts & crafts, dancing and shopping. Visit an authentic Bedouin tent; learn Krav Maga; celebrate Israel's achievements in science and technology; create a huge Israeli flag out of K'NEX; savor succulent ethnic fare using recipes from a brand new cookbook created by local women in conjunction with Philadelphia's Partnership 2Gether communities of Netivot and Sedot Negev in Israel. And this is just for starters....
