Needs-Based Scholarships Available

The Foundation for Jewish Day Schools has a limited number of needs-based scholarships remaining for qualified 3- and 4-year-old full-time students enrolled in Jewish preschool programs at Har Zion Temple and Beth Sholom Congregation in 2005-06.

Qualifications for the scholarships are based on the rules of the Pre-K Educational Improvement Tax Credit program of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. To be eligible for a scholarship, a student must be a resident of Pennsylvania and a member of a household with an annual household income of not more than $50,000. An additional income allowance of $10,000 is permitted for the student and for each other dependent living within the same household, as defined by the IRS.

Applicants must submit their 2004 Federal Income Tax Returns to the Private School Aid Service, a third-party scholarship analysis firm, which will determine eligibility and rank qualified applicants by level of need.

There is a $19 fee to apply for a scholarship.
